Use the Formula Sheet for Geometry Questions

Remember to use the formula sheet for geometry problems on the HiSET or GED math sections. The key is to identify the kind of problem you're facing and the right formula. From there, it's basically solving for an unknown variable. For example, if the problem is asking for you to find the area of a rectangle and it gives you the length (10 inches) and the width (7 inches), take a look at your formula sheet. The GED formula sheet gives you the equation for the area of a rectangle....length x width. So you just multiply 10 inches x 7 inches = 70 inches.
The HiSET formula sheet gives you the area of a parallelogram, which is an object with two sets of parallel lines. That's the same as a rectangle. Think of the rectangle and you have the two width sides that are parallel with each other and the two length sides are parallel with each other also. The area of a paralellogram is base x height -- which is the same as length x width. So you can calculate the same 70 inches.
